History: The Cantiaci were a Celtic or Belgic people living in Britain before the Roman conquest. They lived in the area then called Cantium, now called Kent, in south-eastern England. Their capital was Durovernum Cantiacorum, now Canterbury. The yoke-shaped ornament may be perceived in at least three different ways: as a yoke, as a stylised face, or as male genitalia. This coin is extremely rare with only four originals being recorded.
