The six-pointed star has a circular centre
with the GRI/VI monogram, surmounted by a
crown and inscribed THE AIR CREW EUROPE STAR
around the foot.

flying) and a narrow yello stripe on either
side (enemy searchlights)
Comments:
This medal was designed for air operations
over Europe from 1939-1944. It was awarded
for operational flying from UK bases over
Europe, for a period of two months between
3 September 1939 and 4 June 1944. This star
is by far the most coveted of all the Second
World War stars.
