Obverse: Draped bust left with ‘porcupine quill' hair, pellet behind. Text around SIHTRC REX DYFLNIM (Sithric King of Dublin).

Reverse: Long cross voided with each limb ended in three crescents, pellet in centre. Text around BIRHTIOD MO RINI (Byrhtnoth Moneyer at Winchester).

History: This rare Viking coin is copied from the English Long Cross Pennies of Aethelred II. Phase I pennies were minted in Dublin, Ireland and often copy the legends as well as the design of the English coins. This coin has an Irish obverse and an English reverse.

Date: Dublin mint, Circa 999–1005 AD
