Obverse: Laureate head of Hadrian right. Text around IMP CAESAR TRAIANVS HADRIANVS AVG PM TR P COS III.

Reverse: Hadrian standing left wearing imperial robe, extending right hand to woman wearing crown of towers on her head and stola, kneeling right, with globe on right knee and extending right hand. Text around RESTITVTORI ORBIS TERRARUM, S C in exergue.

History: Hadrian had various and continual journeys amongst the provinces of the Roman world. He made these excursions with the sanction of the Senate and these were chronologically recorded in a series of coins. This coin is the last in the series where Hadrian, the re-establisher of so many component portions of the vast empire is designated as ‘Restorer of the (Roman) World’.
