History:
Otacilia (Marcia) Severa married Philip senior
around AD 234. Struck in AD 248 this coin
refers to the secular games that celebrated
the 1000th anniversary of Rome. The Hippopotamus
on the reverse would have been exhibited in
the amphitheatre during the games.
