Obverse: Head of Athena left in Corinthian helmet, thyrsos behind.

Reverse: Pegasus flying left with Koppa beneath.

History: The images on this coin are very significant to the Greek city of Corinth. According to myth it was on the Acrocorinth or citadel of Corinth, that Bellerophon, with the assistance of Athena’s gift of a golden bridal, subdued the winged horse Pegasus.

Minted: 4th Century BC.
